St. Charles County, Missouri – Beginning January 19, the St. Charles County Department of Community Health and the Environment will be offering free H1N1 vaccinations by appointment at its immunization clinic.
“Many people still haven’t been vaccinated against this serious health threat, so we are pleased to provide yet one more way for people to get their shot,” said Gil Copley, director of the Department of Community Health and the Environment. “Although cases of flu have decreased in recent weeks, influenza viruses are unpredictable and another wave of H1N1 flu is possible. The best protection against the flu is to get vaccinated.”
H1N1 flu shots will be offered during regular hours at the clinic, located at 1650 Boone’s Lick Road in St. Charles. Seasonal flu shots will not be available. Residents must make an appointment by calling (636) 949-7400 and select Option 3.

“Flu season runs through spring, and it’s possible we could see another spike in cases in the coming months,” Copley said. “If you recall, H1N1 first showed up in the United States in April of last year, right at the tail end of the 2008-2009 flu season, which shows you how unpredictable this virus can be.”
